The Algona High School Girls' Wrestling team delivered a powerhouse performance at the Regional Championship, officially securing their title as Regional Champions and qualifying six athletes for the 2026 IGHSAU State Wrestling Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs owned the mat throughout the competition, showcasing the depth and discipline of the program. Leading the charge with first-place finishes and securing their spots in Coralville are Mara Davis, Laura Stohr, Ruby Roof, Reagan Jensen and Reagan Haynes. Joining the championship group at the state level is Sienna Fehr, who earned a hard-fought 2nd place.
Head Coach Jake Adams said, "This year, we had a super tough team. I saw each and every one of them grow in their mentality and determination. I saw them persevere through things towards the end of the year that they would have given up on earlier in the season. I am beyond proud of what they have overcome and who they are as athletes today."
