The Algona Bulldogs wrestling program delivered a powerhouse performance on Saturday, February 14, capturing the District Championship title in Sioux Center, Iowa. In a dominant display of skill and grit, nine individual Bulldogs secured their spots on the podium and punched their tickets to the state championships.

The team title victory caps off a season of intense preparation, as the Bulldogs once again proved they are a force to be reckoned with in Iowa high school wrestling.

The following nine athletes will represent Algona on the biggest stage in the state:

The qualifying wrestlers will now prepare for the 2026 IHSAA State Traditional Tournament, which is scheduled to take place from February 18–21. The tournament will be held at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines, where the Bulldogs will look to climb the podium and bring home state honors.
